Admittedly, I am not much of a resolutions kind of gal. I like to have goals in all stages of my life, so setting up resolutions just because it is a new year always seems silly to me. Not to mention, it can feel disheartening to break your new year's resolution within a few days of making it! So, why even try?
However, with almost 2 years of "real world" work experience under my belt, I have found it harder to stay motivated than while in college. In college, graduation was looming, and working towards that diploma gave me a tangible goal to visualize while suffering through statistics. In the workforce, goals are less tangible (at least in my job) and the amount of work and effort you want to put in to achieving goals is solely up to you. Hence, I decided this year would be a good year to write down a few resolutions in hopes that seeing my goals in writing will hold me accountable to accomplishing them.
What do you think of my resolutions? I know there are some athletes out there who would gawk at me for only working out 3 times a week, but it's a start, people! The gym is definitely not my forte. I do hope to take on an interior design client and become a better photographer. I plan to write more notes to loved ones and friends. Being a "words of affirmation" love languager (if you have no idea what I am talking about, go here), I always feel so loved when someone takes the time to write me a note, so I plan to pay it forward this year! I also hope to see a new country in 2012. What are you hoping to accomplish this year?
PS..... I am guest posting today over at Lili & Mae.... go check it out here.
I think it's great that you made these resolutions! I'm of the whole "I'm going to break them so why bother trying" camp, but I should try to break out of that and set some goals for myself. Thanks for the inspiration! Good luck with your resolutions, I look forward to seeing posts about your interior designing!
