Valentine's Dinner Party

On a whim, I decided to throw a dinner party for Valentine's Day.  Why not?  Life is short, and we should surround ourselves with the ones we love as often as possible!  But you wanna know the most fun part of this soiree?!  It's ladies only!  Carrie Bradshaw once said, "Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with." While I love my boyfriend and cherish his place in my life, I really do adore my girlfriends and don't know where I'd be without them!  If you know me, then you know the most fun part of planning this dinner party is the tablescaping, of course!  Here is some of my inspiration for the event:

Of course there will be lots of reds and pinks, but I am thinking I may add in touches of black for extra drama.  I was so excited to find these pretty iced tea glasses at TJ Maxx today- only $3 dollars each!  The purple tint fits in perfectly with the reds and pinks I have planned.  Also, the heart tray came from TJ Maxx for only $5 dollars!  The ikat bowl is from Anthropologie.

I'll definitely be swinging by Anthropologie for other table setting pretties, and my favorite local flower shop for a pretty bouquet for the centerpiece.

  15. I totally agree! While bf's can be such a support and inspiration, your girlfriends always fill the other voids and our worlds would not be the same without them!!

  16. So cute! I want an invite!!!! :-)
I feel the same way, I have been single for 3 years and just started dating my boyfriend around the holidays. I am getting adjusted to the whole "couple" thing. I will always be a girl's girl.

So, what are you making? Wine and cupcakes works for me! :-)

    1. I agree! Don't tell anyone but I think I am just going to get it catered. I'm not much of a cook, just a devout table scaper! :)

  21. TJ Maxx. $3. $5. You're my kind of shopper! And yes, Anthropologie's housewares always does it for me. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Oh, and totally add the black for drama. :)
