Retro Chic

The style manifested...

Admittedly not my favorite style, I wanted to give a fresh take on all things retro.  My love for Mad Men, That 70s Show, Pan Am, Charlie's Angels and Anchorman make me long for simpler times when good music still existed and most families ate dinner together every night. The late 60s-70s is the most fascinating time period to me.  I constantly remind my mom how lucky she was to have grown up in the bohemian era.  Still, I think we've come a long way taste-wise.  What's your take on retro decor?

  2. I do like some of the geometric patterns and I love the orange and white chair but I think you have to be selective with 60s and 70s decor.

  3. Long way indeed, but isn't it crazy when you look back and see chevron and funky patterns! You realize how timeless they really are. I think the Eames chair maybe one of the best things to come out at that time:) but I'm kinda lovin' those funky pink chairs!!

  5. That orange print chair is to die for! I think mixing classic pieces with a little bit of retro is a great combination.

  6. I love the 70s vibe but more for clothes than interiors however some of these pictures have me rethinking it. Love the bohemian vibe! Happy Thursday doll!

  7. I like a little mid century modern since that is what we first chose when we got married, and it reminds me of a little Frank Lloyd Wright or love the barcelona chair and Eames pieces! Of course my trick is to mix it with one or two of my mom's antiques, and the rest current stuff...love your post...doesn't look all that retro TO ME! hahaha
