Naps & Self-Indulgent Photoshoots

Hallelujah for Saturday!! The day of rest..... am I right?  I just woke up from a 3 hour nap and the only thing I DON'T WANT to do is get up.  It's completely normal to get in bed at 3 pm on Saturday and not get out til Sunday morning.... isn't it?

Truth be told, I'm exhausted because I got up this morning around 7:30 to indulge in a little fun photoshoot with the lovely Kate LeSueur.  Kate was recommended to me by Paloma as a great photographer that lived in our neck of the woods, and man, did we have fun together.  The photos are for my new blog redesign that should be up and running soon!

Right after I got my makeup done by Kristin Daniell, I had to capture the moment.  Kristin is so talented and when I saw myself after she did my makeup I was kind of in shock (in a good way!) 

For part of the photoshoot, I wore a 50s housewife-inspired dress from Anthropologie.  We  played up the hostess/good wife vibe of the dress by taking photos of me mixing cocktails and serving up champagne.  I loved the fit of this dress when I first tried it on in the store, but being 5'2", the dress fell way to low (mid-calf).  I got it shortened and it now hits me right at the knee, which works a lot better with my body type.  I highly recommend this dress as the cut is very flattering to the female figure.

I can't wait to share some of the photos. I am literally in awe of Kate's attention to detail and ability to capture a mood through a photo.  Plus, she let me drink a glass of champagne at 9 am to ease my awkwardness about getting pictures taken by myself.  Not a bad deal, right?  Til next time, XOXO!
