One of my favorite parts of pulling together a design is the searching.... the wandering... the treasure hunting for the perfect pieces for a space. There are a handful of antique stores I like to visit that cause my heart to leap when I step inside- I just can't contain my excitement. To me, this is much more exciting than going to a standard furniture store and buying something that anyone else can buy. You know that what you found is special.
Here are a few instagram photos I have taken on recent antique outings...
Just seeing these photos again gets me giddy...! So you can imagine that the idea of buying furniture and home decor online would seem a little less exciting... it's less of an engaging process and you never know the history or the feel of an item. Add to that the pressure of having to buy within an allotted amount of time on many new flash sale websites, and this would typically be a recipe for disaster for my anxiety-prone self. However, this is sooo not the case with One Kings Lane (and I promise I'm not getting paid to say this). Every morning, I love receiving my daily email with all the latest sales. Even among a gazillion other retail site daily emails, One Kings Lane stands out and always manages to grab my attention for a good 15 minutes. Every sale feels so perfectly curated, with unique, interesting pieces. To me, it really feels like I am looking through a great antique shop. Here are some of my recent favorite items:
1. Green Tufted Chairs with Caning $799 /2. Wooden Etegares $785/3. Geometric Pillow $59/4. Iron Stool with Cushion $399/5. Antique French Setee $2,895 /6. Ceramic Jar with Lid $79/ 7. Moroccan Fuscia Ottoman $219/8. Turkish Kilim Rug $875/9. Orange-Red Chinese Cabinet $499
In addition to great pieces, they also have great selection and great variation in price points. My favorite sales are always "Vintage and Market Finds" and "Favorite Finds Under $50." Are you as giddy as me about One Kings Lane?
{Note: At time of compiling this post, all items were available. If something is sold when you click on it, I do apologize.}
yeah, I'm gonna need all those benches I spied in those shops. Love it all!
ReplyDeleteI love One Kings Lane! They have some awesome pieces. And I'm totally jealous your antique shops, there are only a few where I live and they aren't anywhere close to having the cool things that yours does.
ReplyDeleteThe antique shops in your area are so cool, I see so many things I love (although I probably couldn't afford most of them). :) I also have an obsession with one kings lane, I love checking out their newest goodies everyday!

ReplyDeleteI live in Houston - Please share the name of these wonderful stores :)
ReplyDeleteYou should go to Savannah House... http://www.savannah-house.com/ She's an old friend and an amazing designer. Savannah House is gorgeous and you'd love looking around in there! As for OKL... I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love spending a weekend once a month searching antique store. Unfortunately mine are no where near as amazing as yours!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I always miss the good stuff at One Kings Lane. Also....those benches!!!! I want I want! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOne kings lane always has great stuff - but I agree than antiquing is so much more fun. Its like shopping for clothes - for some reason seeing it in person and being able to feel the pieces makes it so much better?
