8 Things I Loved & Learned This Week: 5

It's been a great week and although I typically do my "8 Things I Loved & Learned Last Week" posts on Monday, I couldn't wait to share til then.

1.)  I have been so overwhelmed by the kindness and support poured out after I shared my heart with you yesterday.  My cup runneth over.  Truly.  I cannot thank you enough!  I learned {once again} how supportive and kind the blogging community is & I'm thankful to be a part of it.

2.) LOVED this fur bench spotted at Memorial Antiques and Interiors.  It will be perfect in a client's master bath as a vanity seat:

3.) LOVE having my parents in town for the weekend.  Growing up, my mom used to make me sweet coffee every morning before high school.  She surprised me yesterday and brought me a mug while I was getting ready for my day, and it tasted just like adolescence. :)  It's the small things, isn't it?

4.) This week I worked with Victoria of Vivaleur and vmac+cheese to create a media kit for my blog.  She did a fantastic job and I really feel the finished product represents The Peak of Tres Chic well.  Here's a little peek:

5.) Thrilled about these vintage gas station signs.  They are going up in a oil exec's man cave- how perfect is that?  I think I will hang them above a brown leather chesterfield sofa.

6.) I learned that I was seriously missing out by not having a Facebook page before now.  Since launching mine on Sunday, I've connected with others and found a unique sense of community outside Twitter, Instagram and all the other social media networks.  Why did it take me so long??  If you have Facebook and would like to join the page,  just click on this image:

7.) Loving Ashlyn's latest style post over on Let it Be Beautiful.  Chunky scarf + leggings + booties = instant fall chic.  I think I'll be channeling her look this weekend...

8.) One of my favorite things to do is meet a friend for lunch.  It's a fun treat during the week and a welcome respite from the busy workday.  This past week one of my close friends and I met for lunch at Tiny Boxwoods.  (Sidenote: Probably my favorite restaurant in Houston)  Anyone who is a regular there will tell you their white wine mojitos and chocolate chip cookies are to die for.  And that's exactly what I had.  Carol had to go back to work, so she had to settle for mint lemonade (not a bad trade-off!)

Bon weekend, friends!!  Have a good one!
XOXO, Sam

  5. Your media kit little peek is so cute. I have yet to get a facebook like page. Not sure exactly why I'm hesitant.

And good for you for posting how you felt yesterday. Hope that inspires more women to go for it. I loved the Madeleine Albright quote. That's one to quote on the reg. Have a great weekend!

  12. Amen to your previous post! I am so happy that you are finally exactly where you are meant to be. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I, like you, have a true passion for interior design and have wondered if I should quit my job in finance and pursue it full-time. At this point in my life I do like (not love though) my current job but I can't help but wonder what my life would be like as a designer. Kudos to you - I would love to talk/email about your transition.
