Prepping for Fashion Houston

"Designers.... make it work!!!"
Ever since the advent of Project Runway, I have been obsessed with fashion shows and the behind-the-scenes process that goes in to making them a success.  Nowadays, I just stalk the fashion resource rooms on the 2nd floor of the Art Institute to watch in awe as the fashion students sew, cut, tear, and ultimately create beautiful pieces.  It's very similar to Project Runway.

The fashion scene in Houston is getting ready to hit the spotlight with international fashion icons bringing their latest designs to FASHION HOUSTON 2012.  Today is the opening day of Fashion Houston, sponsored by Audi, and I couldn't be more excited.  The lineup this week is unbelievable, but tonight BCBGMAXAZRIA is the star. To get in the zone, I popped in to their store over the weekend and fell in love with way too much.  I left with leather pants and a chic cropped jacket, but I wanted to take the whole store with me.  Here's what I plan to wear tonight:

Delicious, no?  Sorry for the blurry top.  I will be in the press section throughout the week and will let you know my thoughts.  Therapy Hair Studio has been kind enough to do my hair and makeup for Thursday's show.  Nothing I love more than a good blow out and some dark eyeliner.  It's going to be a good week, friends!

Hervé Léger by Max Azria, Zac Posen, Monique Lhuillier, Black Halo by Laurel Berman, and many more. Local designers Jerri Moore, David Peck and Chloe Dao will showcase their latest pieces throughout the week.
