One of my current interior projects includes designing a breakfast room for a client. The adjacent kitchen is nearly all white (my kind of kitchen) with copper accents. We found a delicious (who am I turning in to, Martyn Bullard?) chandelier at Kuhl-Linscomb and scored the perfect table from a One Kings Lane sale. If you know me, you know the style of both was classically French. However, I plan to add color to the space through upholstered chairs and drapery to modernize and liven the space a bit. Here are a few of my favorite French breakfast rooms that still have a very fresh feel:
Here are a few of my preliminary ideas (with a very similar chandelier and the actual table we purchased). The chairs we decide on will be upholstered in a lively hue to give the area a splash of color. I like the idea of adding a rug with a modern motif, and a French Louis Phillipe gilt mirror is a must. I could dedicate an entire post to my love of the Louis Phillipe antique mirror. Maybe I will one day.

How's your week going? I have a Sketching & Rendering class from 1-5 today, and then another interior design class from 6-10. Wish me luck- I think I'll need a few Rockstars to get me through this day. :)
