Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was eventful to say the least. I installed a few pieces in a client's dining room (read more about this project here and here), made lots of progress on the new build project, and did an early birthday celebration for Sam's 30th with the family! Here's a small snapshot from the dining room install:
Isn't this console piece a beauty? It's a Bliss Studio casegood, and I found it on Layla Grayce. We went with a Surya flatweave rug and Robert Abbey gourd lamps. Currently, we're still on the hunt for the perfect piece of art to go above it.
On to #projectnewbuild.... the kitchen is still coming along nicely and the cabinetry framing has been painted! I choose Snowbound by Sherwin Williams and am thrilled with the outcome. I went with Pewter Tankard for the walls in eggshell finish (as you can see the house has VERY tall ceilings and is open to the second floor). I love Pewter Tankard because it is a greige- it looks gray in some lights and more beige with brown undertones in other lights. Trim is painted snowbound as well. Don't the workers look thrilled that I am taking pictures of them mid-action? Oops.
The shower mosaic by New Ravenna Tile has also been installed! (Wouldn't it be nice if the lighting was in, so I could actually have a decent picture to show?) The backsplash is the focal point when you walk in to the shower (shower head to left of mosaic):
Picking out some lovely fabrics to go with Kelly Wearstler's Bengal Bazaar (this textile never gets old...):
I love my new May Designs calendar book for the spring. I couldn't resist the zebra print!
And what would spring be without a trip to the snow-cone stand? Sam and I checked out Mam's House of Ice after hearing rave reviews from other Houstonians. Mam's serves New Orleans-style "sno-balls" and has even been featured in National Geographic! We went to their location last week and freaked out because we didn't see them there. Sure enough we waited about 15 minutes and up rolled this cute little blue house on wheels:
Creole Cream Cheese with Raspberry is where it's at my friends. Trust me, you will not be disappointed:
