I'm being a little hypocritical today. I've always found people who complain about the weather to be a tad annoying. We live in a world where most people can walk inside for air conditioning/heating at their leisure! But still... it hit the 100s in Houston this past weekend, my air conditioning has been on the fritz, and I felt rather miserable (again, sorry, I know it's wrong to complain when some people don't have a house at all!). So today, while trying to stay cool with iced lattes and frozen yogurt, I thought I'd share a little something refreshing for the eyes: a glam hotel in the heart of St. Barth's- La Banane:
Staying in one of their nine bungalows would be a dream. Until that day comes, Assouline's In the Spirit of Saint Barths and the pictures above will have to suffice. How are you staying cool today?
Hope your AC gets fixed quickly! I know it can be miserable! St. Barts is a great mental escape today since I can't get there otherwise! Love it.

I am ready to pack my bags and go there! We don't have AC at all in my Washington house, which is unheard of where I am from. I am slowly melting and going to go see a movie so I can get some AC!
ReplyDeleteIced lattes and frozen yogurt are an excellent way to stay cool! The weather here in Illinois has been in the 70's and low 80's the past few days so we've had our windows open. I'm yearning for some hotter weather...but I wouldn't be if my AC wasn't working! Stay cool.

Oh my that hotel looks absolutely divine! I hope I make it there one day! Don't feel bad about complaining about the weather-- Its raining here on the East Coast (again) and I've done my fair share of complaining- just want to go to the pool!
ReplyDeleteTake me there now! OMG the heat has been pretty bad in California the last few days as well. I'd so rather be in that pool right now.
ReplyDeleteDo you want to maybe move there for the rest of the summer?? Ugh I was in Austin this past weekend and it was 108! Why does it have to be so hot in TX? such a gorgeous hotel btw!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain--ours always acts up every summer. Here in Louisiana it's been pretty miserable too.
ReplyDeleteOmg, I so feel you on this. Being too hot makes me a certain kind of miserable. You complain all you want. And get yourself to some AC.
ReplyDeleteIt's hot over here too...we hit 100 over the weekend, unbelievable. Anyway, hope that you're staying as cool as possible.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! So happy you were featured on vmac + cheese. I'm also living in Houston (and working in Oil & Gas - very jealous of your leap!). It's so hot! Looking to escape the heat in a few weeks time for our wedding. Good luck in planning yours! xo
