Hi, hi! How was your weekend?! I actually did a few fun things worth mentioning (ha!), so I thought a weekend recap post was in order. Thursday evening, Sam and I went to the Movember Houston kickoff party. Are you familiar with the organization? I am sure you've seen lots of guys using this month as an excuse to grow a mustache, but Movember is actually an international movement to raise money and awareness about disorders affecting men's health; namely, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health issues. Men grow mustaches during the 30 days of November to act as walking billboards for the charity. Movember was founded in Australia in 2003, so Sam has been active with the organization since the beginning. We had fun getting our caricature drawn at the party:
Doesn't Sam look like the fonz?! I was cracking up that music was coming out of his hair! ;)
My parents came in town this weekend for our first wedding shower, and we started the weekend off with a lovely dinner at Up Restaurant on Friday. The weather was so beautiful that the restaurant kept the windows open!
Saturday we did a little shopping, and I couldn't pass up these gorgeous Tory Burch bow pumps:
That night, we celebrated with friends at our first wedding shower! Here I am with 2 of my amazing hostesses (thank you Carol + Grace!):
A few people on Instagram asked where I found my dress, so if you are curious it is by RVN and you can buy it here. The girls weaved a classic Hollywood vibe throughout the shower (because they know how much I adore Audrey Hepburn) and added such fun touches. Here is part of the spread which included vintage popcorn boxes, all the best movie candy, bruschetta, champagne spritzers, and classic bottled coca cola:
It was so wonderful to catch up with friends & family and just be in the moment. We had an amazing night, and all in all it was a great weekend.
Did you do anything fun?!
Sam, you look stunning! You are going to make an absolutely gorgeous bride!
