There is something so tailored and chic about a high/low color contrast. Although I'll always have a soft spot for all-white kitchens, I love seeing designers and homeowners mixing it up a bit with darker accents. Case in point: navy cabinetry. When paired with white subway tile, Carerra marble countertops, and Shaker-style cabinetry, it's a total knock out:
I love that designer Sarah Richardson paired the navy with gold fixtures and pulls:
I love the look when balanced with whites, such as on bottom cabinetry only. But for a man cave or bar, all-over navy would be dramatic and sexy!
What do you think?
Gorgeous kitchen! The navy and the white really pop!

Love, love, love navy cabinetry. Especially with white marble! I saw it at a restaurant a few years ago and have been wanting to do it ever since.
ReplyDeleteThe Navy with the marble creates a great contrast. Simple, but elegant.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this color!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Sam. I love this. I've actually been really adoring the look of grey cabinets (which of course won't happen until I actually own a house), but love the look with white and wood. So many options to choose from! :)
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen cabinets look amazing! I actually hired a painter to do the exact same thing to mine. He achieved the same look that you did on your own. I will remember the wet sanding technique. Fabulous job and what a difference!

I Love love navy cabinets. That last picture has been a favorite of mine for a while. I love the incorporated wallpaper!
ReplyDeleteIt's a stunning kitchen! I really appreciate the navy cabinets mainly because it's one of my favourite colours. A great job ;)
