Thank God it's Friday. This week went by so incredibly fast, and I'm looking forward to some R&R this weekend. I know you are all sick of hearing me lament about the NYC weather, so I'll save it- but suffice it to say I'm having serious FOMO watching my Texas friends lay by the pool in 80+ degree weather.
-I'm not Catholic, but I really want to be BFF with the Pope. He's a fantastic person, no? Pope Francis released a paper titled "On Love and Family", and the underlying theme was more tolerance, less judgement:
"By thinking that everything is black and white, we sometimes close off the way of grace and growth."
Well isn't that the truth? Read the full paper here, all 206 pages of it.
-35 hidden bars in NY. Raines Law Room is my absolute fave- you ring a doorbell by your table to order a cocktail! I also have to thank the first guy who took me out in New York for showing me The Garret, located above Five Guys Burgers in the West Village. You have to walk through the fast food restaurant to a back staircase to access the bar. It's become one of my regular spots!
-How to travel with friends and still like each other at the end of the trip. Great reading as I prepare for a shared Hamptons house with 8 other girls. :)
-These feminist stock photos make me happy to be alive in 2016.
-I'm also thrilled to live in a world where it's becoming increasingly hard to hide corruption.
-Are you guys subscribed to The Skimm? Probably so, as I seem to be one of the last ones to jump on the Skimm train, but if not- I highly recommend subscribing. They send out a streamlined email each weekday morning highlighting noteworthy happenings from around the world from the previous day- including politics, economics, sports, pop culture, + more. Sign up here.
