Spring in NY

One of the best things about living in a city without a car is also the most obvious- you're forced to walk everywhere. Walking to work and to the gym and to dinner with friends and then back to your apartment means you become much more aware of your surroundings.   Sometimes it's not pretty at all (crowded subway cars, trash piled up on a corner, etc), but even so, living in New York has taught me to be an observant pedestrian.  Living on the Upper East Side might be a bit further from the action of the city, but I welcome the quieter streets after a hectic day and love walking a few blocks west to Central Park.  In between my apartment on 2nd avenue and the park on 5th, there are blocks of townhomes with charming stoops and doors- which I post often on my instagram.  I was looking back through my camera roll last night of the past few months in New York, and wanted to share a few moments this spring I've been loving here in the city.

A lovely afternoon in Central Park:

The view from Gab's new East Village apt:

Cherry Blossoms outside a lovely Upper East townhouse:

Chester Alan Arthur sculpture in Madison Square Park:

A pretty sun setting over NoMad:

A great lunch date on the Refinery Rooftop with my Houston friend, Liz:

A view of the city at dusk from Brooklyn Heights:

Tulips blooming along Park Avenue:

One of my favorite corners in NY in the West Village because of all the great restaurants- Bar Sardine, Empellon Taqueria, Perla Cafe, Bobo (W 10th and W 4th):

More tulips in Central Park:

Still lovin' these fun Target slides (also love these and these):

And to close- a great quote I've been meditating on:

XOXO,
